Tuesday 12th July – Manchester-based digital marketing agency, Online Ventures Group, were proud finalists at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity’s Many Hands finale at The Midland Hotel.
Out of twenty candidates, OVG along with three other finalists pitched their fundraising ideas in front of a panel of judges including Theo Paphitis from Dragons’ Den. From this, the judges then had to pick a winner based on their pitch in the hope of winning the chance to spend the day with Theo at their workplace.
The event was held in aid of the charity’s Helipad Appeal, which will be the first hospital in Central Manchester to have a helicopter landing site. As a result, this will enable RMCH to quickly and efficiently transport more patients to the hospital so they can receive high quality treatment resulting in a huge impact on recovery.
As well as hiring out their Directors for the day, OVG were joined by milkshake makers, Archies, Space48 and their charity festival and finally Headhunter and winner of the evening, Gary Chaplin who raised a staggering £9,000 for cycling the distance of Mount Everest.
Communications Director at OVG Olwen Shaw says, ‘The Many Hands finale was a wonderful evening and it really hit home just how much effort everyone had put into raising money for the Helipad Appeal. I am immensely proud of my OVG team and although we didn’t win, it was an honour to be named a finalist and spend the evening with such fantastic people.’
