The Easter Weekend is approaching and with four whole days to enjoy, now is the time to get out and about in Manchester.
Here’s our list of a few things the huddled team might be getting up to this weekend!
The egg hunt came first, then the chicken…
From Friday to Monday, you can join in with the hunt for golden eggs across Manchester city centre. With 50 eggs to find, we like our chances for winning one of the golden prizes on offer – especially the free chicken and chips for an entire year!
Head over to their Facebook page for hints on where to find the elusive eggs.
Salon music in the park
On Sunday at 3pm and Monday at 5pm, Feelgood Theatre present live music in Heaton Hall. This concert is telling the story of the inaugural concert held in 1790 and Seymour Egerton’s ‘Wandering Minstrel Orchestra’.
The Vine String Quartet and international singers will perform a broad selection of music from Handel to G&S.
Turning the Irwell yellow
Eight years ago someone came up with the brilliant idea of racing rubber ducks down the Irwell, and we are pleased to confirm that this now annual event returns again on Good Friday. The spectacle is free to watch but for the full experience, you can enter a duck yourself.
Ducks are £1 each and you are more than welcome to decorate your own and all the proceeds will go to the children’s charity Brainwave.
Definitely not an Easter Egg hunt though…
The controversy of dropping ‘Easter’ from the annual egg hunt aside, this is a full day of fun following the trail around the various participating parks. The hunts run from Friday to Monday, 10:30am to 4pm and cost £2 per trail. Complete the hunt to win your delicious treat!
This year, Quarry Bank in Styal, Lyme Park in Disley and Hare Hill in Over Alderly are all taking part.
The Unicorn Egg
Not an activity per se
We just feel that everyone should share in the joy that is this video:
