Exclaim is the exciting exhibition and showcase on 6th June which brings together work from media, performing arts, creative writing, computing, film, television and advertising all under one roof.

It is the first time that the University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences have brought several elements of its creative degree programmes together for a grand finale end of year show.

On the evening there will be exhibited work, film screenings, live stage performances and special guests attended by some of the biggest names in the region’s creative industry.

During the show, the winner of the Paul Cannon Award 2013 will also be announced. The accolade is given each year to a media student in memory of an Edge Hill student  whose life was tragically cut short just before his graduation. The award recognises a single student whose final show reel demonstrates all the flair and charisma that Paul Conon demonstrated during his time at Edge Hill University.

Carol Poole, Ambassador to MediaCityUK at Edge Hill University, said: “In previous years we have had  an end of year show within individual departments but we wanted to extend this to embrace the sheer diversity of our talented students within arts and culture. As well as the traditional film screenings, there will be animation, dance and drama, readings and even a showcase for our computing and web development activities to show just what a creative campus we are. It will also be a great chance for students to demonstrate their quality of work to the industry and will present them with more employability opportunities.

“Due to our strong partnership links with BBC MediaCityUK in Salford Quays, we thought it would be fitting to host the event at the prestigious Lowry Theatre to highlight the growth and regeneration that is a happening within this part of the region and to bring Edge Hill’s talent to Manchester. We are proud to be a part of its continuing development and it reflects our commitment to MediaCityUK.

“We are building on our ever growing reputation within the creative industries and will be unveiling our very own Creative Edge at the Ormskirk campus in September. The £16 million facility is set to enhance the student learning experience and is on a par with those used by the BBC at MediaCityUK. The development will provide industry-standard facilities for students studying courses in Media, Film, Animation, Advertising and Computing.”
