Online Ventures Group has been hard at work again, with the latest Data::Manchester report looking into the Twitter accounts of some of the UK’s best courier companies.
The report ranks the top 20 companies in a number of categories, including top followed accounts, most prolific tweeters, accounts by hashtag and URL usage, average quality of tweets and overall score.
The Manchester marketing agency has used its own metrics plus the Twitter API to compile the data, and have then sifted through it all to present the public with its latest report.
The best courier Twitter account by overall score is, unsurprisingly, FedEx, although there are quite a few companies that could easily rise to the top of the tables. A lot of the accounts already post high-quality tweets, so with a little bit of effort they could increase their rankings.
OVG also found that most couriers, apart from FedEx, have very low follower numbers, and that only the top three accounts in the relevant section (@the_NCA, @UnicornLogistic and @dhlexpressuk) utilise hashtags properly.
There is a definite correlation between the quality of a tweet within the courier industry and the number of times it is favourited or retweeted as well, which shows just how important it can be to properly formulate your tweets.
