The Marketing Academy, a voluntary non-profit organisation which gives rising stars in Marketing and Advertising the skills to become the industry’s future leaders, is excited to announce that the 2014 nominations for its flagship Scholarship Programme are now open.
Now in its fifth year, The Marketing Academy provides a unique forum for CEO’s, CMO’s, entrepreneurs and leaders of world class organisations to inspire and develop the talent of today to become the leaders of tomorrow. The Scholarship facilitates the transference of leadership knowledge between the present and future leaders, ensuring the continuation of the UK’s global success within the Marketing and Advertising community.
Sherilyn Shackell, Founder of The Marketing Academy said: “It’s always exciting to see the breadth and depth of talent that lies in the UK’s marketing and advertising communities and we anticipate that this year will be no exception. We are extremely grateful for all the support we receive from our Mentors, Coaches and Partners who give their time to help develop the next generation of world class leaders. If previous years are anything to go by the industry has a very bright future indeed.”
Amanda Mackenzie, CMO of Aviva and Marketing Academy Mentor explains why she donates time to the programme: “I support the Marketing Academy as it is simply irresistible. You get to spend time and help brilliant hand-picked scholars and they leave you excited and thrilled for the future of the industry.”
Potential Scholars first need to be nominated so business leaders and senior marketers are asked to identify their brightest and best high potential talent and nominate them by midnight on 21st February 2014 for a life-changing opportunity.
As not everyone takes the traditional route to the top, there are also a few places for those who demonstrate exceptional ‘potential’ as natural marketers or outstanding entrepreneurial skills and ability.
Marketing Academy Alumni and Entrepreneur James Eder, Co-Founder of Student Beans says: “The Marketing Academy was an amazing experience for an entrepreneur like myself and there is nothing like learning from people who have developed not only their businesses but their industry. In no other network or environment have I been in a position that has enabled me to grow and learn on both a personal and professional level. If you’re looking to develop yourself and your career I couldn’t recommend it more highly.”
Following nomination, individuals are invited to apply for the Scholarship and take part in an intense four stage selection process in order to be offered a place in the 12 month programme.
Current Marketing Academy Scholar Sophie Macaulay, Brand Manager at Arla Foods says “The Marketing Academy has provided me with the most invaluable opportunity to meet a brilliant bunch of like-minded peers, understand more about myself than I thought I could and to help define the type of leader I want to become. I’ve been able to share my greatest hopes and fears in my career with a whole host of selfless senior leaders within the industry – I genuinely feel like I have hit a career jackpot!”
