The Salford Red Devils Foundation is looking for individuals to join its board in a voluntary capacity, to support planned growth in the next year.

The registered charity organises sport, health and educational events throughout Salford and Greater Manchester. Powered by a delivery team consisting of both full and part-time volunteers, the it has delivered 1,000s of hours of community events, working closely with the Salford Red Devils rugby team.

During the next 12 months, the Foundation is seeking to increase activities significantly and as a result, is looking for like-minded individuals to join its Board of Trustees.

Recruitment for this role is being provided free of charge by executive HeadHunter Gary Chaplin. Speaking about this venture, he had this to say:

“Charities now more  than ever before need support and assistance. I have always organised charity events (2011 London to Manchester Bike Ride with Theo Paphitis…..; 2012 White Collar Boxing and for 2014 being a mentor and judge for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Many Hands campaign where businesses and people commit to raising £1000 over the course of a year. Details HERE.)

…..but helping charities doesn’t just mean raising funds.

Charities need direct assistance, especially when it comes any organisation’s most important resource – people. This is why, as a HeadHunter, I have offered free recruitment to charities ever since I set my business up, utilising my capabilities to directly help them recruit key personnel and in turn operate to the best of their capabilities. I am proud to help several local Manchester Charities.

This particular charity struck a real chord with me as they use the skills and motivation of a Famous Rugby Club to give back to the Greater Manchester community, and in particular to the benefit of children and young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds. The role as Trustee becomes a critical function for the Charity as it continues it’s development. I am proud and humbled to get involved and play my part.”
