MUIR Housing Group in Chester continued its golden touch by retaining its Investor in People Gold Award for 2014 following a comprehensive review of its policies and procedures. And further good news followed as the association was also awarded the Health and Wellbeing award for the first time.
The organisation, which is headquartered in Lightfoot Street, received the prestigious award in May after its staff were surveyed on a variety of factors, including how its leadership team supported health and wellbeing in the workplace, how its staff were recognised and rewarded and provided with health and wellbeing benefits way beyond the legal norm, and its dedication to ongoing improvement in this area. Overall, the findings of the Investor in People inspector meant Muir Group was rewarded with a Good Practice Award for Health and Well Being.
In addition, Muir Group met 175 of the organisation’s requirements meaning it was eligible for the gold award again for its overall commitment to investment in people.
Catherine Dixson, Chief Executive of Muir Group Housing Association, said:
“It is fantastic to have been awarded the Health and Wellbeing Award by Investors in People, as well as keeping hold of our gold accreditation with them. We recognise that our people are our greatest asset and their health and wellbeing is very important to us. The awards are testament to the efforts everyone in Muir Group has put in over the last year.”
“I am extremely pleased that our commitment to our investment in our people has been recognised and I am very proud and honoured to receive these awards for Muir Group.”
In the Investors in People reports, the high visibility of Muir Group’s senior management was highlighted, and the organisation’s approach to promoting health and wellbeing was singled out for praise, with staff seen as “effervescent” in their praise for this area.
Muir Group Housing Association is a social landlord which manages around 5,000 properties across the UK. It employs 174-people in total, including 90 at its Chester head office, and at various regional offices in Blackpool, Burnley and Huntingdon.
