Lowry Outlet (MediaCityUK) has opened the doors on its Virgin Active Health Club following a £4.5million refurbishment, which will give members access to the very latest fitness equipment and innovations.
The major renovation sees the opening of a 38 bike cycle studio, a renovated pool and reception area and upgraded locker rooms. Members can also enjoy explosive new high-intensity classes including The Grid, a non-stop obstacle course that promises to burn 900 calories in 30 minutes, and a revolutionary climbing frame for adults known as Queenax.
Following the top to bottom refurb, the health club now also boasts the latest fitness equipment, including Wattbikes, Woodway Curves, InBody Trackers and Water Rowers.
Speaking about the transformation, Lowry Outlet Centre Manager Helen Anderton comments, “We have been blown away by the results, as we know our members will be when they test out the new and improved facilities for the first time. The refurbishment marks a major moment for the Lowry Outlet being able to offer world-class leisure facilities. Virgin Active’s significant investment is sure to transform the experience of our visitors looking for a great place to work out.”
Shaun Cassidy, General Manager of the new-look Virgin Active, said, “At Lowry Outlet, MediaCityUK, we have got everything you need to discover more from your fitness routine – from The Grid and latest equipment on the gym floor, to Group Cycle in the studio to our newly upgraded swimming pool. There is something here for everyone, and it is hugely exciting for us to reveal our completely refurbished club with its new look and feel.”
“On behalf of the team, I want to thank our members for their patience during the refurbishment. We hope the new facilities were worth the wait and will inspire and motivate more people from the local area to come and see all that Virgin Active has to offer.’’
The waterside shopping and leisure complex boasts 80 stores, restaurants and cafes, plus an on-site multi-screen Vue Cinema. With a raft of recent new signings, including a Next store set to open on 7 November, Lowry Outlet continues to make its mark on Manchester’s retail and leisure scene, as the city’s only Outlet.
