Following the success of National Apprenticeship Week (14th – 18th March), The Juice Academy has announced a link with Northcoders, which will offer employers the chance to ‘supercharge’ their social media apprentices and other digital marketers, via a short but powerful coding course.

Northcoders offers market-leading coding bootcamps for those looking to find a software engineering role in the North of England and has now teamed up with The Juice Academy – the social media training arm of comms agency, Tangerine – to offer a version of the bootcamp that cherry picks specific skills  relevant to digital marketers.

“Ever since the launch of The Juice Academy three years ago, we’ve been regularly asked if we could run coding training and, until now, we’ve had to refuse as we couldn’t find a way to do so to the same standard as the rest of our training,” explained Sandy Lindsay MBE, chair, Tangerine and The Juice Academy. “This extension to our training offer will make already valuable employees even more effective in the workplace and ensure their careers continue to flourish. A win-win.”

The course will run for a day per week for six weeks, with ‘homework’ in between and, at the end of the course, the trainees will be able to code a simple responsive website that looks good on desktop and mobile. This could be anything from a campaign landing page that captures leads, to a full site showing off a new product or service an employer is taking to market.

They’ll also learn how to pull in data to the site from a number of different sources, such as Twitter feeds or even data from other websites. And they’ll have an understanding of the many add ons, such as Hotjar and Google Analytics, they can add to a site and how to go about doing so.

James Brooke, MD and founder of Northcoders, added his thoughts: We’re more than excited about this partnership with The Juice Academy. Employees with imagination, digital marketing and coding skills are going to be wonderfully placed to discover technology-based avenues for growth for their employers. This course is designed to inspire young people to take that path.”

The first course will start on Friday 29th April and costs £1,950 per trainee – the course will be limited to 15 delegates.
