Auction house TLH Auctioneers based in Oldham and Liverpool has been shortlisted for a Skills for Business Award 2016 in recognition of the company’s on-going commitment to staff training and investment in developing local talent.

TLH Auctioneers, one of the UK’s leading auction houses for stock clearance, car auctions, jewellery, surplus and bankrupt stock, has reached the finals in the category of Medium Business of The Year Skills for Business Award and now competes with six other businesses from across Greater Manchester for the coveted title of Business of the Year.

Shortlisted alongside training partner Mantra Learning, the company has demonstrated its commitment to staff training, continued investment in its workforce and the positive outcomes this has had on business.

Supporting forty members of staff through NVQ training programmes, Marcel Duffy, IT Director at TLH Auctioneers, who coordinates staff training said: “We’re thrilled to receive this recognition for all our hard work over the past 18 months when our company has experienced exponential growth.

“Everyone has worked so hard through this transitional period with not only self development but also in terms of the willingness to adapt to our ever changing needs as a business.

“We have demonstrated our flexibility as a business to help and support our staff through their educational development, whilst still successfully running a business which is experiencing massive growth.

“We intend to continue investing in the skills, training and development of our staff to make our business even better. We’re really looking forward to attending the awards in June and fingers crossed we go all the way to win.

“We’d like to thank all our staff and customers for the continued support that has helped us excel within our business, and get this far into the awards process.”

The awards, in association with training company Pearson, are held annually and hosted by Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Greater Manchester Learning Provider Network to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution that skills and learning make to businesses across Greater Manchester.

This year’s awards will take place on 9 June 2016 at The Point, Lancashire County Cricket Club.
