Mergefield Certificate Floorbrite has been awarded a Gold Achievement Award in the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2017.

The company, based in Sale, Manchester, achieved the Mergefield OSA_Result Gold award in the prestigious annual scheme run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.

RoSPA Gold Award winners have achieved a very high level of performance, demonstrating well developed occupational health and safety management systems and culture, outstanding control of risk and very low levels of error, harm and loss.

The Gold Achievement Award was presented to Adam Berry, Head of Health and Safety at Floorbrite at an awards ceremony held at The Birmingham Metropol Hotel at the NEC.

Joint Managing Director Alex Wyers was also invited, with Adam to Buckingham Palace for a garden party earlier in the year as part of the RoSPA centenary celebrations.

The RoSPA Awards is one of the most highly-regarded and sought after accolades presented to businesses and organisations which have shown commitment to accident and ill-health prevention.

Through the scheme, which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, judges consider entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

Adam Berry, Head of Health and Safety at Floorbrite said of the award: ‘We now employ more than 1,400 people across the UK and embrace a safe work culture and open door policy to make sure that all our employees are safe in the workplace, so being recognised by RoSPA for our work in the health and safety arena is an incredibly proud achievement for the whole company.

‘The nature of some of our services mean that we operate certain high risk departments, such as the window cleaning division, however our safety track record is excellent and that success is down to communication, training systems and implementing effective safety procedures that protect our employees.’

Alex Wyers, Joint Managing Director added: ‘Health and safety is an incredibly important part of our business and looking after our workforce is always our number one priority. Being acknowledged by RoSPA for the work we do in this area is a huge compliment to the effort that Adam and his team put in to protecting our employees, each and every day.’

Floorbrite was set up in 1972 and is now owned and operated by Chairman Linda Wyers, and Joint Managing Directors Alex Wyers and Nik Wyers. To find out more about Floorbrite, visit www.Floorbrite.co.uk.
