Residents and visitors to Bellway Homes’ Hilltop Manor development in Salford enjoyed a slice of homemade cake and a cuppa for a good cause last Sunday, helping to raise £380 for Macmillan as part of its World’s Biggest Coffee Morning campaign.

Taking place annually at the end of September, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraiser to help those facing cancer.  Last year, the event raised £27 million and the intention is to exceed that figure this year.

One in every two people in the UK will suffer from cancer and there are currently millions of people living with the disease across the country.  Macmillan provides medical, emotional, practical and financial support, not just for suffers, but for their friends and family too, ensuring that no-one has to face it alone.

To help support this worthwhile cause, residents at Hilltop Manor baked cakes to sell to each other and visitors to the development, whilst Bellway Homes hosted the event in its stunning show home and provided the tea, coffee and soft drinks.

Karen Wells, Bellway Homes’ sales advisor at Hilltop Manor, commented: “There is a real sense of community at Hilltop Manor and I have a great relationship with the residents, so I suggested hosting a coffee morning at the development for Macmillan.  The residents were delighted to help with the event and we are thrilled that £380 was raised for this worthy cause.”
